Siam Patumwan House

“A workplace inspired by Japanese aesthetics that feels like home.” Standing tall at 33 storeys as a signature landmark in Bangkok’s most renowned CBD area, Siam Patumwan House has captured the eyes and hearts of the city’s inhabitants.

Architectural design concept

Reminiscence of the famous design language created by the Japanese. The appearance of the office tower with its clean forms and delicately regimented lines reflects the Siam Motors brand history and the iconic vehicles they produce.

The beauty of the design extends from the façade into the space planning and functionality to accommodate a new era in a workplace lifestyle to feels like home.

To accentuate the façade’s character, the use of wooden lattice is playfully arranged with varying sizes and density. This mimics the design features seen in traditional Japanese houses.

Interior design concept

“Cultural integration” was the theme used for the interior spaces. This concept unifies the external and internal elements as one coherent design language.

Integrating the dark timber-looking vertical fins into the main lobby and drop-off area sets the tone for the rest of the interior features. Subtle Thai patterns are embedded between the vertical fins that respect the local audience of Bangkok, Thailand.

Landscape design concept

Inspired by the beauty of a Japanese Zen Garden, the concept of a calm setting is central to creating a modern yet tranquil landscape environment, using a new composition of local trees, stones, and gravel.

Rosy trumpet trees (ชมพูพันธุ์ทิพย์), also known as “Thai Sakura,” are used as the featured tree in the outdoor garden at ground level. Its yearly pink blossom is reminiscent of springtime in Japan.
